About:

Our restaurant, history and delicious food

Our history starts in 1976 when Rose, Andre's mother, opened her store, Andre's Bakery, in Forest Hills, Queens. She began selling her soon-to-be famous hand made strudels, ruglach and pastries! Before opening her bakery, Rose worked at Mrs. Herbst pastry shop on Third Avenue in Manhattan. In other words, she knows quality. Please check out our pastry order website by clicking here and order all of your favorite pastries today! To reach us by phone, call us at 718 830 0266. We ship anywhere in the US!!

In 2005, Andre opened this Cafe where you can enjoy authentic hungarian cuisine and great hungarian wines, along with pastries and strudels, while listening to hungarian music in a very friendly and cozy environment. Try our Chicken Paprikash, Veal Goulash or Stuffed Cabbage and you will feel like you're in Hungary!

We also have our third location on the corner of First Avenue and 57th street (the phone number for this location is 212 207 8117). Here, we have a full line of pastries and hungarian dishes to go with any one of our sandwich, coffee cups or cold beverages.

Everything in our stores are handmade and use only the best quality of ingredients with no preservatives. We peel the apples and make our own dough, just like grandma used to do it: On a big table with dishes pushing each other to the very edges. We have a tablet "K" certificate for our pastries and both hope and know that you will enjoy your visit!
